I currently attend college on a local south jersey campus. One of my required writing arts class writing, research and technology. As you can see by the course title the class is pretty self explanatory. You write, you research and you use technology. Although it is obviously not as easy as it sounds. We were given an assignment which allowed us to pick a topic of our choice and start a blog as part of a research project. Well this is my first ever blog and I am looking forward to joining the blogging world.
The topic that I chose was dyslexia. I think this topic is perfect for me because I find myself wanting to know more in order to help me as a future teacher. In a nutshell dyslexia is a learning disability that affects students. As elementary education/special education major I am required to do tons of field work. By doing field work I have worked with several dyslexic students which is half the reason I chose this topic. But the main reason that I chose this topic because one of my close friends is dyslexic. Growing up and helping proof read her papers or helping her with her math homework I just thought that she struggled in those areas. I now know more about dyslexia and how it affects students and their everyday life.
